when can I show you the world? 2023

This body of work is from a time between 2020 and 2025 when my cousins were in hiding as they navigated a violent crime committed against them.

I visited them regularly to help support. Because they were under victim-witness protection, I wasn’t allowed to post them online, or where I was if I was with them — subsequently all of the photos I took of the kids from this time were typically of their hands, legs, back of their heads. This work reflects on what safety looks like, and how it shapes the way we exist and find our place in the world.
